Shake up your life: how to change your own perspective
This is my first official Blog post!
I'm not necessarily a writer, and I rarely post anything on social media. I do LOVE talking about my personal experiences with friends so I figured why not write about them too!
I live in my head which is extremely exhausting! I'm constantly thinking about my life and what i'm not doing... It's way easier to beat yourself up about what you're not doing with your life than praise yourself for the things you are and have done with it. If you can relate, take 5 min to think about everything great you've done so far in your life and then think about all the amazing things you will and continue to do. (That 5 min you took to do that is the beginning to changing your perspective)!
No matter how low you may feel in the moment, there is always an upside. You have the power to change your own perspective on life and live it the way you want to. You're never stuck, as there is always an alternative solution to a solve.
The perfect prescription when I start to feel like i'm falling into a dark hole is... I make it a point to change my environment. Whether that's a day trip to a near by city, a domestic trip to a different state or an international experience. Shaking up your life is necessary, as progression can't occur if your level of content supersedes you're drive to succeed.
Singular thinking will never get you anywhere, broaden your life scope and open yourself up to new things. Date someone you never thought was your "type", Expand your food palette and try something new, Travel solo internationally or to a different city, and last but not least get to know yourself better. (It's interesting but alot of people don't really know themselves because relationships, circumstances, environments have defined their behavioral personality traits) I'm not a doctor, but I'm just sayin...
